Fairfields, new dab page or split[edit]

Several articles (well, two at least: Fairfields and Fairfield Engineering Works) are actually or often called Fairfields. These are a little hard to find in the long list of things called Fairfield. Fairfields used to be a redirect to Fairfield Engineering Works so there wasn't huge scope for confusion, but it has recently been converted to a standalone article about a UK location. People looking for Fairfields, the engineering company are now potentially going to get a bit bogged down. Does this need a Fairfields (disambiguation) page, with only two entries at this point? A redirect from something like Fairfields (engineering company)? Just modifications on this page to make Fairfields entries easier to find? Lithopsian (talk) 17:32, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've been working through the "what links here" and in fact most are easy to fix: the weird one is number of times I have found [[Fairfields|Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company]], where someone has gotten the pipe reversed! The hatnote at the opening of the Fairfields article directs people to the Fairfield page, which is a disambiguation and contains the Engineering company. It is probably no harm to have the page you created but hopefully it won't have too many takers. Redirect to Fairfield Park (Disambiguation)[edit]

I don't understand why the discussion above settled on a redirect to Fairfield rather than Fairfield Park (disambiguation) at least for now. The disambig page could be moved later as suggested at the discussion but at least wp:think of the reader in the meantime.
