what's the "FD" stand for?[edit]

what's the "FD" stand for? full definition? flat dimension?

also, think article needs link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WEGA for better understanding of "WEGA." in all caps (as is used by sony) it appears to be an acronym rather than just a branding. the WEGA article also needs explanation of "FD" btw, this type of "FD" doesn't appear on disambiguation page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FD.

The chart says 1 rf input, but it actually has two, as can be seen in the manual linked to in the last column. One is designated for vhf/uhf signals, the other for cable signals. Superiority claim.[edit]

"By the end of CRT's market dominance, only Sony and JVC had released such high-resolution CRT HDTVs to the non-professional consumer market." Would like input on simply removing this section. I have a Toshiba brand TV in my possession that is proof to the contrary. Specs can still be found on the manufacturer's website as of 09/27/2019 which seems like a reliable source to me for the time being.

@Gegueure The idea of the statement you are referring to is that the trinitron was in general superior due to their technology offering better image clarity at any screen mode, and in some cases absurdly high refresh rates in the PC versions. The market dominance in that context was related to the high resolution not the market share. They dominated the /high resolution/ market not the entire market. The Toshiba may support similar screen modes, and may have had market penetration longer due to manufacturing them for longer, but they are not necessarily superior in the image clarity and refresh rates that the Sony and JVC models had. They may have come close however, and if you can cite some more technical details, maybe the Toshiba's should be added to the above statement too?
