M-171 (Michigan highway) → F-41 (Michigan county highway) — The highway's current designation is F-41. While county routes aren't usually notable enough for their own articles, this one seems to have enough of a history to warrant a standalone article, given that it was once a portion of US-23 and later had its own state highway designation for quite some time. An article on F-41 can cover its history as US-23 and as M-171 all in one place instead of the M-171 history being on one page, and the F-41 history on the list of county routes in Michigan. I'm not normally in favor of state highway designations redirecting to articles on other subjects. That's why the article title is M-102, not 8 Mile Road. I can support this merger/rename/move if it's done right. Mostly, it would just need the infobox shield flipped, some history added post 1970 for the F-41 designation and additional bolding added. I think we could do this article justice in that regard, and the M-171 title would still direct here. I can go for this. When do we implement it? Imzadi1979 (talk) 05:39, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
