"Får" vs. "sau"[edit]

I reverted changes by anoymous user 84.48.120.10. Får is used only literary in Norwegian, and must be considered a Danish loanword. Here's your documentation. --Devanatha 19:15, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a native Norwegian speaker (as you apparently are yourself), and I know the word "får" is simply a synonym for "sau", maybe used a little less frequently like "swine" maybe is used less frequently than "pig" in English. These Norwegian dictionaries contradict your statement: Taule, Ragnvald: "Escolas ordbok" (Escola Forlag, Bærum 1992). "Tanums store rettskrivningsordbok" (Kunnskapsforlaget, Oslo 1996). Both these have entries that simply state what "får" means, and include nothing about limited usage.
Before inserting the disputed information once more, please consult a Norwegian dictionary. Please also consider whether this information is necessary for an encyclopedia entry about the dish anyway.--Odd M. Nilsen 07:57, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Remove section about name[edit]

The section about the meaning of "får" vs "sau" really has nothing to do with the dish. It should be removed. MasterDirk 18:48, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Fårikål Feast Day[edit]

I have no idea if this information added by anonymous user 82.134.72.38 is legitimate, as I have no experience on this topic. I flagged with citation needed, and removed some information also added by this user that did not follow NPOV. Any help you can provide in citing this is greatly appreciated. «Zach Minster» (Petgraveyard) (talk) 20:18, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
