After the conquest of Makkah, the Roman emperor, Heraclius,

noted the newfound strength and prestige of the Muslims.
He and his court decided that it would be in their best interests to attack the
Muslims before they could become a hassle to deal with. So, he gathered a large

army of Byzantine soldiers from Syria and Antioch, with some support from their ally

Arab tribes, to attack the Muslims in Madina. Traders, who regularly traveled to and from
the Hejaz region and Syria notified the Muslims of the Byzantine

army. Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ did not want to wait for the enemy to come to them

so, he decided to prepare the Muslim army and depart for Syria — Preceding unsigned comment added by 39.32.81.252 (talk) 16:57, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
