For the record, I'm confused by User:Tony Sidaway's decision to keep this article, given that the votes were "delete" (me), "delete" (Soltak), "delete" (Linnwood), "leaning toward delete but abstain" (JesseW), and "keep" (Alex Nisnevich, the vendor of the ExamDiff application). How soon can this commercial advertisement be re-nominated for deletion? --Quuxplusone 01:33, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It was borderline. Three deletes and a keep, but the author did a good rewrite during the vote. On borderline votes (70-79%) I consider the merits. The argument that it's an advertisement didn't convince me; it's no more an advertisement than Microsoft Word, Visual Studio, GIMP or Photoshop. The fact that the author gave a good account of himself did influence me. Since there were so few votes here, please submit it for deletion again immediately with my blessing if you think I got it wrong. More votes either way would have helped. --Tony SidawayTalk 02:03, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, I did a complete rewrite of the article following the VfD notice. Secondly, remember that Wikipedia Is Not a Democracy - majority opinion does not necessarily rule in Wikipedia. -- Alex Nisnevich (talk) 02:35, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
