Ojorojo, was this song recorded on August 23 or 26? There seems to be a discrepancy between the body and infobox, but I can't access Alan Clayson's book to verify. Tkbrett (✉) 01:57, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Clayson got his info from Doug Hinman and Joe McMichael around 2002.[p. 207] The 23 October recording date was also given by Greg Russo in earlier editions of his Yardbirds' bio. In his 2016 updated edition, Russo changed it to 26 October and added "This information comes directly from the original tape box. These sessions were not recorded on 08/17/65 or 08/23/65 as stated in other publications."[p. 209]

Propose to add Russo's new date to the main body and to move 23 October to an efn: "Earlier sources, including Alan Clayson, give the recording date as 23 October 1965.[Clayson 2002, p. 175.] Greg Russo, in his 2016 updated Yardbirds' biography, lists it as "26 October 1965" with the explanation "This information comes directly from the original tape box. These sessions were not recorded on 08/17/65 or 08/23/65 as stated in other publications."[Russo 2016, p. 209.] If this looks OK, I'll go ahead and add it.

Thanks Ojorojo. I'm confused though; Russo lists it as 26 October? Is that a typo? You have it down as 26 August in the article and the single was apparently released on 1 October. Tkbrett (✉) 00:08, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
