WHY red?[edit]

i recall director or casting agent or someone talking about finding a creole-looking/mixed race child for the lead, but why? CISELY didn't have that look, nor either of the PARENTS.

is it just supposed to show random variation within a generation? the diff in the kids' looks -- along with the way the parents are so cold/mean to eve in the beginning -- implied to me that cisely was a "real" daughter but eve was "illegitimate"!!

nothing of the sort followed, so why make eve so diff looking to begin with?! and why DID the parents prefer the other 2 kids? 66.30.47.138 (talk) 09:44, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

the bees[edit]

the kids are both grossed out by them; mother is bemused that eve would find such a box of them. yet eve's witty retort is simply that she's supposed to "help serve". huh? so are these the mother's indeed, and was she planning to serve them herself?

i understand they are (maybe?) a delicacy in france, but are they or are they not in this movie? the mother's reaction does not make sense to me. 66.30.47.138 (talk) 09:49, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
