Disputed content[edit]

There seems to be some dispute about the effect of hedgehogs on native fauna. I would like to discuss the reasons for this dispute and whether such material needs to be removed from the article. I think the article needs to be dispassionate and not paint hedgehogs in NZ as either being an evil scurge, nor mans best friend. This is not an article that needs to persaude people to bannish hedgehogs nor protect them, it should just accurately describe their presence in New Zealand. I would be the first to admit that the article is tending to demonise hedgehogs, and the illustrations and text may represent only some of the story. I would welcome additions describing and even illustrating the work done in rescuing and protecting hedgehogs, but along with that should go some references indicating the size of the support for this work and perhaps media coverage of it. --Tony Wills (talk) 11:16, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
