ISSF European Shooting ChampionshipsEuropean Shooting Championships – The championships are also organized by the European federation of this sport and not only by the ISSF. --Kasper2006 (talk) 06:36, 13 June 2020 (UTC) Relisting. buidhe 23:44, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment @Kasper2006: Something is wrong with the template. Please confirm the move should be to European Shooting Championships. --Mdaniels5757 (talk) 16:25, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I confirm. I'll take care of fixing the template and all the "links here". --Kasper2006 (talk) 17:18, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

European Shooting ChampionshipsISSF European Shooting Championships – I request that the article name is changed back to its original name from June 2020, since that clearly indicated the sanctioning organization and ruleset of the championships. The current naming is confusing, as there are numerous other shooting organizations than the ISSF and ESC which also hold their own separate European Shooting Championships. In addition to ISSF, you also have for example FITASC, ICFRA, IDPA, IMSSU, IMSC / CISM, IPC, IPSC, WA1500, WBSF, etc. (see list of shooting sports organizations for even more shooting organizations). An article simply named European Shooting Championships should therefore naturally be a disambiguation page. A better alternative would be to go back to the clear previous naming. • Support per Sauer202. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:05, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - the principal rationale which caused this page to be moved in the first place has not been addressed here. This event is not solely organised by the ISSF. There is also no evidence that it is ever called "ISSF European Shooting Championships" in reliable sources, so it's a big WP:COMMONNAME failure. As for other events organised by other federations, we'd need some evidence that they are in any way as notable. As far as I can tell reliable sources such as [1] feel no need to qualify the title, so I think this is a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC over other competitions, which I don't even think have Wiki pages.  — Amakuru (talk) 15:26, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging Mdaniels5757 and Kasper2006 as participants in the very recent RM on this subject, who should have been notified that this was being challenged.  — Amakuru (talk) 15:28, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per Amakuru. --Kasper2006 (talk) 16:05, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I would support the move, it's like we say FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship, however, there's something confusing here. In the article it says: "The championships are by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) in collaboration with the European Shooting Confederation (ESC)." Why are we using ISSF and not ESC? What am I missing? Thanks. Maxim.il89 (talk) 13:07, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • Anyone can clarify this, please? Thank you. Maxim.il89 (talk) 07:49, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
