Expert tag[edit]

I added the expert tag mainly because this page does not define what an Euler operator is. It's not clear how the examples given (like adding a vertex in some face) work. Does the operator add a vertex in an arbitrary face? In a given face? If the latter, how to properly define this operator? It is not clear at all that these operators are invertible: what happens when you apply the inverse of the vertex-adding operator to an empty mesh? Finally, I expected to see something about the Euler operator in calculus of variations here; a disambiguation note would be nice, though we don't seem to have an article about it. -- Jitse Niesen (talk)
