Mentioned in Gene Wilder's autobiography[edit]

Gene Wilder tells a story of doing a Broadway show with Roche and the director would pick on Roche constantly until Roche stood up to him and yelled "Listen, you little fuck, if you say one more word about me, I'm going to come down there and knock you out!" Wilder called Roche "a wonderful actor".
