Move?[edit]

Is anybody against move to "Eparchy of Zahumlje, Herzegovina and the Littoral"?--Antidiskriminator (talk) 11:08, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

History and periods[edit]

Between u 1317-1321. bishop Danilo of Zahumlje complains to King Milutin that his income from the land of Hum has been lost. The last episcopal bishop of Zahumlje, Stefan, is mentioned in 1330. In 1333, there is no mention of any episcopal bishop, and it the eparchy was closing down at that time. Deed of donation of King Dušan to the monastery of St. Peter on Lim in 1343 excludes the existence of the episcopal see (seat) even on Lim. Marija Janković says that the Hum episcopate was abolished in 1333-1334, and that already from 1317 to 1324 it lost all contact with Hum. Sources:

  • Marija Janković, "Episkopije i mitropolije Srpske crkve u srednjem veku", p. 112, + footnote 40;
  • Boris Nilević, "Srpska pravoslavna Crkva u Bosni i Hercegovini do obnove Pećke patrijaršije 1557. godine", p. 35.

So, it was established in 1219/20, but it was abolished almost exactly 100 years later, 1317-1334. Can we elaborate this using these reliable sources (WP:RS) - it is common knowledge in academic community. As far as I know, it was restored only in the 20th century, in 1921.--౪ Santa ౪99° 03:14, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
