I moved this from Local history, as the article was all about English local history while many of the incoming links were actually about the local history of completely different places. This article was already too large to be converted to some kind of globally relevant article on the topic. As an article limited to English local history, this can still probably be substantially expanded, but one could write equally long articles on local history of Germany, France, Holland etc.

The interwiki links have been moved to the new local history page which is now a very short stub waiting to be expanded with content on the topic of local history in general.

I re-linked the incoming links to link to this location from some articles when the context was clearly concerned specifically with the local history of England or places in England. The process was complicated by a large number of incoming links from userboxes. Pharamond 12:16, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The lead still reads like this is about local history in general. The entire article needs more work, but I think you were right to spin this off. Chris Troutman (talk) 19:05, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
