Copyright and neutrality concerns[edit]

This sounds like a promotional text; besides, some parts of it can be found on other websites. So:

  1. Has it been copied from somewhere else?
  2. If not, it requires serious rewriting.

Links[edit]

I have changed the blatantly commercial link to Pahaud's recordings (with purchasing information) added by EMIClassics and replaced it with links to his EMI and Askonas Holt biographies. However, this article still requires reliable independent sources. To user "EMIClassics", if you are connected in any way with the EMI Classics company, it is a conflict of interest for you to be editing articles on EMI artists or adding any links whatsoever to your company's web site. Thank you. Voceditenore (talk) 17:42, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of blatant copyright violation[edit]

EMIClassics, please do not keep reverting User:Nrswanson's edits. He was removing blatant copyright violations from http://www.msbuhl.com/page_p168_en.html Thank-you Voceditenore (talk) 11:06, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Translated Quote[edit]

The quote given at the end of the intro was given only in French. I added an English translation. Rockerflutist1 01:21, 2 July 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rockerflutist1 (talkcontribs)

Non-encyclopedic ?[edit]

Born into an non-musical family,[2] as a young boy living in Italy; the sounds of the flute captivated Pahud and he has never looked back since.

Is this supposed to be a neutral way to present this person ? "....and he has not looked back since." That in itself is non-encyclopedic in nature and language. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.108.205.160 (talk) 16:53, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tone problems[edit]

The section "Musical styles and recordings" does not have an encyclopediac tone--it seems to be almost fawning towards Pahud as he might be described in program notes or on the back of a CD: "For the many that come to see Pahud perform, either jazz or classical, it is not only about entertaining. Pahud reflects on his audiences being able to learn about music at his performances; it is about reacting at different levels and ranges of emotions. ... He wants to open opportunities in developing curiosity to discover more about music as a way of giving back to the audience." This is not a factual statement and does not belong here. Furthermore, this paragraph beginning with "In most interviews, Pahud describes music/musical styles in terms of "phrasing" or a Phrase" is truly odd. It makes it seem like Pahud invented the idea of musical phrases. The rest of it explains what a musical phrase is, which already has its own article. Sentences like "It is like a grammatical construction with words to stress" are just flowery analogical descriptions that have no place in an Emmanuel Pahud article.
