Beauty of Elizabeth Hurley[edit]

The piercings statement is not backed up?!

Son[edit]

Article says "Damian was baptised a Roman Catholic." Who on Earth is Damian and why is he mentioned in this article?

Please add four tithes at the end of your question. Thanks. To answer your question, Damian is her son from her relationship with Stephen Bing. Storched 19:03, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Family Guy[edit]

On http://www.familyguyfiles.com/main.php I can't find anything about that Family Guy comment? Is there any source for that? What episode is it? Evilbu 11:24, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

it's episode 420 named "patriot games" here's the link

June 29, 2006[edit]

The entry I put back in, I feel, is more comprehensive and yet, less cluttered than earlier versions. My entry addresses who Damian is (her son) and offers a far less POV stance, inkeeping with Wikipedia's rules.

"That" dress[edit]

Any chance of getting a picture of "that" dress into the article? Seems to me to be the kind of thing that would be better with a picture, and one of the things (I think) Elizabeth Hurley is most famous for. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mrjeff (talkcontribs) 12:30, 3 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

An unsourced and poorly formatted addition made its way on to the page: a parenthesized assertion that Arun Nayer, who has donated a great deal to AIDS/HIV-related causes, is HIV-positive. After doing my own research, it seems to be unfounded. I thus deleted the awkwardly-placed and un-cited assertion. 128.103.14.20 18:15, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reveal lump[edit]

change reveal lump to a better verb.

Why didn't her father give her away?[edit]

why didn't her father give her away at her marriage? IS he alive?

He died before her marriage. Jim Michael (talk) 11:05, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mismatched dates[edit]

"On 4 April 2002, Hurley gave birth to a son, Damian Charles Hurley. In June 2002 DNA test conducted four months after the child's birth vindicated Hurley, and Bing was proven to be the father after much dispute."

how can her son be four months old in June when he was born in April? even if the test was conducted at the end of June, that doesn't make him four months old.

Well spotted. I've just left it simply as "A DNA test conducted after the child's birth" etc. An April 2002 BBC News page stated the results of the DNA test, so it must have been before June. Many thanks. Eagle Owl 18:11, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's still atrocious. October 2000 is 10-2000. 12 months later would be 10-2001, and if she announced it after they broke up after 18 months together, they'd have broken up in 4-2002, the same month the kid was born. So, maybe they broke up EIGHT months after the relationship started? That's reasonable, but I think [citation needed] --TIB (talk) 06:58, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

'Former fashion model'[edit]

This title is misleading in that Hurley still actively models. She still works for both her beachwear company as it's public face and as a model for Estee Lauder. The label 'former' does not fit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.79.195.31 (talk) 01:43, 15 February 2008 (UTC) 111 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8801:A814:4A00:C060:83C0:77E5:F37D (talk) 22:11, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hugh Grant[edit]

maybe the original author can change from "Hugh Grant's girlfriend" to "Hugh Grant's ex-girlfriend"?

Estee Lauder contract and the phrase 'lesser capacity'[edit]

In 2001 Hurley was replaced as the face of Estee Lauder with Carolyn Murphy. However, Hurley stayed on with Estee Lauder and in doing so, ended the tradition of the company having a 'face'...after all, there were 2 faces. In the years following, Gwyneth Paltrow and Liya Kebede also joined the company as models, rounding out 4 faces. Currently, the company is fronted by Murphy, Hillary Rhoda, Paltrow and Hurley. The phrase 'lesser capacity' is misleading. Hurley models perfume, cosmetics and skincare for the company, something which Ms Murphy does not do (she does not model cosmetics), nor does Ms Paltrow (who does not model skincare). Only Ms Rhoda models all 3 as Ms Hurley does, but Ms Rhoda does not serve as the face of Estee Lauder's Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Thus, it is not that Hurley works in a 'lesser' capacity, she simply works in a 'different' capacity, in actual fact, her workload has increased! Therefore, I am changing the phrase 'lesser' to my original edit that she 'remained with the company'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.79.207.198 (talk) 22:31, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • When you go from being the face of the company to one of the four faces of the company - you are in fact working in a "lesser capacity" regardless of what the size of your workload is. Bottom line: I have changed the language to state that the contract became non-exclusive (on both sides). Peace. Busillis (talk) 02:42, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To keep her trim physique, the UK's Daily Mail reported[edit]

I've removed this as I think it's poorly sourced. The Daily Mail article appears to be a rewrite based on this [1] which doesn't indicate when or where the quotes were given.Mighty Antar (talk) 01:30, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the focus of the lead section[edit]

I can't understand why the lead section of this article seems so heavily centered on Hurley's former relationship with Hugh Grant. Really, I didn't even know about that until I visited this article. Surely, she is known for more than just that -- the main body of the article shows that. Unfortunately, the lead does not accurately sum up the rest of the article. Bobnorwal (talk) 05:39, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed some of the excessive stuff from the lead.Hutch y2k (talk) 02:34, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Just wanted to say the same thing as Bobnorwal, I think first paragraph needs to be rewritten entirely--tired time (talk) 22:28, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rename article to Liz?[edit]

I rarely see her referred to in reliable sources as "Elizabeth", rather as "Liz". WP:COMMONNAME says we should use the name sources commonly use. I can't see a previous discussion on this... interested in views as to which name sources tend to use. --Dweller (talk) 22:16, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure. It seems that she is referred to as Elizabeth Hurley nowadays. See this Daily Mail article, or this Gossip Girl notice (her most recent and only role in 7 years). Nymf hideliho! 22:53, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah... Ghits are rough and ready, but looking at news coverage, tonight, I get 240 hits for Elizabeth and 334 for Liz. Maybe status quo should therefore be kept. Shows how up with celeb news I am - she only comes across my attention because of her relationship with that underachieving non notable Australian bloke. --Dweller (talk) 23:23, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Infidelity[edit]

As Hugh Grants quickie with a prostitute is spoken about in the personal life section, should not the affair with American actor Tom Sizemore be mentioned about? re: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2305056/Tom-Sizemores-betrayal-Liz-Hurley-reveals-year-affair--Hugh-Grant.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Testphrases (talkcontribs) 21:43, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

endorsements[edit]

I reverted this excision of the coverage of her endorsements. When Hugh had his adventure with prostitute there was a lot of discussion as to how her reaction would affect her endorsement deals. Geo Swan (talk) 01:17, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Where is it reported that they are related? It certainly doesn't say so in the article you've linked to.
  2. The article you've linked to is from the Daily Mail, which is not a reliable source of information. Can you cite a reliable source?

"Official website" external link[edit]

Although the web address www.elizabethhurley.com might sound like her official website, it is the website of "Elizabeth Hurley Beach" which self identifies as "a London based, luxury swim label". It might include a little information about its patron, but even the sub-pages titled "About Us" and "Blog" show that the site is wholly devoted to the swimwear label. Liz Hurley is a person, not a line of swimwear. I've removed the link. Twistlethrop (talk) 13:48, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
