Proposal to merge with Townsend avalanche[edit]

This article and that on the Townsend avalanche are effectively about the same phenomena. The original name for such an effect is a Townsend avalanche, and is cited as such in technical descriptions; electron avalanche just being used as shorthand for the same effect. The current Townsend avalanche page has much more information about the phenomena.

Propose that this article be merged with the Townsend Avalanche under the latter name.
