I have updated the grade for this article. It's a stub.[edit]

There is no section about the genre's characteristics or its history. There are only three sections, the lead, the notable artists, and the chart performance. The lead, despite being the only section to provide any useful information about the characteristics of electro swing, has no citations. The lead is supposed to be supported by the rest of the article. Instead, the article is just trivial information. Also, there are only three citations, and they are for trivial information. As mentioned by Toddst1 above, this article is in need of improvement. I will be nominating this for Today's article for improvement. Lazman321 (talk) 03:29, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There could have been more but every time someone who was actually involved in the electro swing movement tried to update this article someone else would delete it and then lock this article - so basically this article is now the singular worst source of information on electro swing on the internet. Congrats Wikipedia for undoing yourself. 2601:40A:4200:27C0:E8F0:3340:6795:CEE3 (talk) 14:51, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Add FAKE TYPE. to the notable section HWbacon (talk) 14:13, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done for now: They don't have a Wikipedia article yet. EN-Jungwon 15:08, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The section Notable artists implies that all the artists mentioned under that heading are notable by Wikipedia standards. The proposed list contains 3 names which are not notable.  Spintendo  03:17, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notable artists[edit]

(Deluxe and Chinese Man has not been making electro swing for a long time. There are much more relevant artists...) Tiwitey (talk) 19:10, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's difficult to list every single Electric Swing artist on the page—especially one that even has a Wikipedia page redirect (Jamie Berry has millions of plays, but not a Wikipedia page). But if you can expand the list, I don't think anybody's stopping you. - MateoFrayo (talk) 13:46, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Tiwitey @MateoFrayo The key thing with a list like this for preventing list cruft is establishing standards for inclusion early on and then enforcing those standards. In this case, I would suggest that we require every entry to have an article (to avoid listing artists with few views) and that we enforce a verifiability requirement by requiring each entry to have a citation (something like a review mentioning that they're an electroswing group) to show that they truly are electroswing. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 14:16, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Since it's a stub right now and there aren't many artists in the list, I'm a bit more concerned with WP:FANCRUFT, but as the article grows I definitely agree with establishing citation standards and possibly having a verifiability requirement, like you suggested. - MateoFrayo (talk) 14:27, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear fellows[edit]

I don't see any "History" section in this article. Someone who knows this genre, please add such section. Does "tu es foutu" have anything to do with the emergence of swing house? Does gabin's "aint got swing" have anything to do with the emergence of it? maybe the elusive 2000s genre of electro-tango has anything to do anything with it? -- f6d45b89613e0c57e51a2d0febc2b33d 178.121.43.34 (talk) 10:30, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I added a placeholder history section. The Inglis book seems like it'll be the best source for it if you can access it. If so, please be bold and add it yourself! Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}}talk 15:47, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
