einstazkommando is under the wrong headline. it was not part of the german miltitary. einsatzgruppen and einsatzkommando in ww2 were mostly constituted by reserve police regiments and men from the SD (sicherheitsdienst =security service (kind of secret service)and or members of the ss. they were mainly not under the miltary command. they were normally under the command of the higer ss-füherer of a certain region. its a different command chain!!

Recent revisions seem to have added a lot of unencyclopedic content to this entry. Everything except the first paragraph and the last sentance is of questionable value in an encyclopedia article. 212.57.228.21 14:44, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quality of the article[edit]

This article is very low quality, it contains a lot of information with NO sources whatsoever. It also is not in good wiki format. The ending "report" is totally unneccesary and unfit for the wikipedia. I guess this is part of the Nazi glorification propaganda, but could you guys please create a webpage www.estoniansarenazis.com instead of producing very-low quality articles in wikipedia, and linking them everywhere.

On the productive side... Things ToDo:

  • Get sources/references for the article
  • Remove all those excess information. Wikipedia is not a place where to post large amounts of raw information. It is a place where encyclopedic articles. If someone comes here, he want's to know what exactly is "Einsatzkommando", not exact lists of who was in it and how many jews they killed.
  • Format this in approriate way.

wihleim fuch[edit]

according to the hyperlink, SS-Obersturmbannführer Dr. Wilhelm Fuchs – (15TH SEPTEMBER 1943-27TH MAY 1944) is linked to William Fox (January 1, 1879–May 8, 1952) famous hollywood producer. Is that correct ?

Merge with Einsatzgruppen[edit]

This article can't really be properly sourced and presented without basically preparing a new version of Einsatzgruppen. Best thing to do would be to source the information in this article, merge it into Einsatzgruppen, then set up this article as redirect to Einsatzgruppen.Mtsmallwood (talk) 12:29, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I second this. It makes no sense to have two separate articles, one for Einsatzkommandos and one for Einsatzgruppen. The former were sub-units of the latter. Could someone take care of this, please? Lumet (talk) 10:49, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have found the photo of smiling, smarmy SS men as a lead image for the article discussing the topic of extermination to be problematic. K.e.coffman (talk) 20:18, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

June 2020 edits[edit]

Preserving here by providing this link; my rationales were:

  • "c/e and corrections; rm extraneous material"
  • "rm image -- it's unrelated to Barbarossa, being dated in 1942 and, according to Commons, may depict Schutzmannshaft".

Errors in the article[edit]

The article erroneously states that Einsatzgruppe C and Einsatzgruppe D consist only from Einsatzkommandos. Actually, Einsatzgruppe C was subdivided into Sonderkommandos 4a and 4b and Einsatzkommandos 5 and 6. Einsatzgruppe D was made up of Sonderkommandos 10a and 10b and Einsatzkommandos 11a, 11b, and 12. Read the articles of Einsatzgruppen Trial and Babiy Yar, and you will find the information on Sonderkommandos of Einsatzgruppe C and D. You will also find this information in the source of Messages of Murder: A Study of the Reports of the Einsatzgruppen of the Security Police and the Security Service, 1941-1943 By Ronald Headland . Probably the same situation is with Einsatzgruppe E. In my opinion, the description of the structure of Einsatzgruppen from the text of this article must be transferred to the article of Einsatzgruppen. The article is edit protected, so I can not enter appropriate corrections into the article. Slav70 (talkcontribs) 23:31, 2 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
