August 7-9 Politically-Motivated Edit.[edit]
Someone removed the statement that "Ein Heller und ein Batzen" had evolved into an archetypical Nazi song, and replaced it with a claim that it was just something in the "Wehrmacht song book". There is a backstory to it: on August 7, 2023, a German folk group sang it in Gdansk, during a fair. Due to some internal politics connotations, certain political circles in Poland attempted to whitewash the incident, and part of it was whitewashing the song's actual history and the connection with Nazism. I have reversed the edits and added a source. As Wiki does not allow direct links to youtu.be, the reference is indirect. Nevertheless, anybody can go to YouTube, find the 1946 movie "Zakazanie piosenki" and find the relevant fragment after 11:00). 73.65.198.94 (talk) 19:38, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
