"...this period was best known as when the Hebrews were slaves in Egypt". I doubt that there is actual evidence of this; this theory is widely debated by Egyptologists and should not be stated here as fact. Stoa 17:49, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Echad 13:22, 28 April 2006 (UTC)But there is good chance it is so, due to monotheistic craze (as stated in Torah/Bible book of Genesis and Quran, the first man, abandoned polytheism was Abraham/Ibrahim, father of all Jews and Arabs), I don't see any other possibilities of Akhenaten convert to monotheism, not knowing of it's existence at all. It also could gave some ideas of Nephertiti's whereabouts, and, taking it as a fact, Aten's pictures were of the sun disk, not as a human-animal as all other gods, which is quite uncommon for Egyptian beliefs, but wears a same symbolysm as of Judaism.[reply]

"...the Ancient Hebrews, who adopted a modified version of the monotheism theology of Akhnaton..." -This is only speculation. LarG 21:32, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

dates are off kilter[edit]

See the radiocarbon dates in this article or the one in Science and adjust accordingly. http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2010/06/new-dates-egypts-pharaohs 100.15.120.122 (talk) 20:36, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

error in text of Gallery of Images[edit]

The text says "Akhenaten born Amenhotep IV", which is nonsense. He was an adult with a wife and at least 3 children when he came to the throne, so it makes no sense to say he was born with a royal name. Lazyzee (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:54, 28 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Iron Age?[edit]

The typical start date for the Iron Age is around 1300BC, pretty much the time that the New Kingdom ended. Their weapons were almost exclusively bronze. Iron Age does not normally include meteoric iron. Why is the New Kingdom listed as being in the Iron Age? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kenif (talkcontribs) 03:54, 2017 July 25 (UTC)
