Hello editors! Regarding Goodwin's birth and death dates, I have come across several dates so far. All quite frustrating! For this article I ultimately went with his obituary from Manx newspaper Mona's Herald as it was written the closest to his death and is a reliable source. I'd like to hear what people think about it, cheers 12:31, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

Fastyr mie; according to Thomson, the biographical note is sourced from a foreword by Sir Joseph Qualtrough – surely a reliable source? I'm not putting forward a view on which is right, but it looks as if there is some doubt.---Ehrenkater (talk) 12:36, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fastyr mie dhyts Ehrenkater! My personal view would be to favour the article from Mona's Herald because the obituary was written the closest to the time of death, whereas the biographical note was 20 years after he died. Qualtrough also got the date of death wrong (he says 1924, the newspapers say 1925) in his biographical note too so perhaps he's not as reliable as we'd like our MHK's to be!
