Untitled[edit]

Edisto Beach was never the site of a plantation - those are all located on Edisto Island. My father is a real estate agent there, I spent many a summer volunteering for the museum on the island, and I've read almost every book ever published on the beach and island, not to mention spent the first sixteen years of my life there. A few farmers used to pasture livestock in the jungle on the beach, as well as planters building beach houses to escape the heat of the plantations more inland on the island, but that's about it as far as history goes until the early 1900s. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.191.159.148 (talk) 02:36, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
