The three-plus years of Eddie Johnson's superintendency were undoubtedly a plus for the City of Chicago, but laden with tumultuousness. He continued to serve until his dismissal on 2 December 2019. Though heavy-burdened with the aftermath of the Laquan McDonald Shooting and quickly followed the upheaval by the LeGrier/Jones shooting, he served with the Chicago Police Department and the City of Chicago.
