The song was recorded by Neil Diamond and released on his 1998 album "The Movie Album: As Time Goes By". It was conducted by Elmer Bernstein on the 20th century fox scoring stage, and associated with the movie "Sweet Bird Of Youth". Recordings[edit]

The article currently lists eleven recordings of the song, all contending to be among "the best known versions". That seems to me to be pushing the notion of best known and edging toward every. I would suggest that no one should add another recording to the list unless he's confident that it's better known than at least one of the recordings currently listed and, if so, that he simultaneously remove at least one of the currently listed recordings. (Ideally, though, the list should be cut in half at least.) TheScotch (talk) 22:35, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
