Untitled[edit]

This article says that meänkieli is an eastern Finnish dialect. Here is a map that says the opposit, the Finnish language in the most northern parts of Sweden is a Western Finnish dialect. [1] / Habj 23:11, 1 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say that meänkieli is part of the northern dialects (pohjoismurteet) of finnish. The northern dialects are more west finnish origin than east. --Icepenguin 12:06, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say there is no real need for this page, since Karelian is a language, and dialects northern, western and easter could and should be referred from the finnish language page. meankieli, is definitly not eastern.
