Potentially irrelevant information[edit]

In the section "Notable Residents", there is an entry "Metin Ilgin - random resident".

I've removed this, as it appears to be someone simply adding their name. Please correct this if this actually is a person of interest from this town-- however, the very fact that it is entered as a "random resident" and a Google search turns up nothing but Facebook pages and other irrelevant information makes me feel pretty safe in removing this. Unsourced material[edit]

The following is unsourced information:

  • East Quogue is one of the smallest residential areas in the well known "Hamptons."
  • In East Quogue, Children in grades K–6 attended The East Quogue Elementary School. Those in the grades 7–12 attended Westhampton Beach High School, located about 10 minutes west of the hamlet.
  • East Quogue's "Main Street" was a filming location for the film, "Margot at the Wedding" (2007) featuring Nicole Kidman and Jack Black
  • The 2002 MTV Beach House was located on Dune Road in East Quogue.
  • East Quogue has many services that include a barber, various restaurants, butcher, church and post office. East Quogue also has a Volunteer Fire Department all within a one mile radius.
  • Roots in the Community: A very large oak tree, partly hollow, stood for decades along Old Country Road in East Quogue and was a virtual post office for Quogue's early settlers. They called it the ``old box tree and placed their mail in the tree's hollow center to be picked up and exchanged by post riders. In 1894, the tree was damaged by fire and removed to the Quogue Post Office. Today, that portion of the tree is still on display at the Old Schoolhouse Museum on Quogue Street.
  • East Quogue Elementary School K–6 only has 400 students.

While this is interesting, we can't use it unless you provide a source. Also, none of this is really trivia, as trivia by its definition is "unimportant information" - it therefore shouldn't be in a trivia section but instead the information should be incorporated into the main article. - Tbsdy lives (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 08:53, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
