Untitled[edit]

One year, there were more murders per capita in East Liverpool than any other city in the US. I'm not sure what year that was. I was a preteen then so it was about 20 years ago. I guess maybe mid to late 80's.

History - seeking consensus on this information for re-addition[edit]

The passage "Potters from Staffordshire, England began pouring into East Liverpool, Ohio. They were attracted mostly by higher wages, but also by the prospect of land ownership and the promise of a "meatier diet". Letters from English immigrants in Ohio back to family members in England frequently make reference to how often they ate meat. By 1879, there were twenty-four potteries in East Liverpool, which employed over two hundred people (including men, women and children), nearly all of whom were English immigrants and their families. As late as 1900 East Liverpool remained "essentially a transplanted potting town of Englishmen". The vast majority of the fiteen thousand inhabitants were English immigrants and their children." was deleted, all of the information is found in the source: British Buckeyes: The English, Scots, and Welsh in Ohio, 1700-1900, specifically pages 135-137. I believe this was erroneously deleted, and the source, and information are all entirely within wikipedia requirements for addition, and should therefore be re-added.174.70.84.42 (talk) 14:13, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The source in question is a peer-reviewed verifiable, academically published source (the sources are entirely fit Wikipedia's requirements for reliable sources). The information is not disputed by any other source, the claim is entirely in line with what appears on town and county history pages. The justification for deletion remains unclear.174.70.84.42 (talk) 22:05, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

These additions fall firmly within wikipedia guidelines pertaining to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability#Responsibility_for_providing_citations and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view#Due_and_undue_weight and should not be deleted again within establishing consensus for such deletion here on the talk page. Thus far, no such consensus has been reached. and therefore the additions should not be deleted.174.70.84.42 (talk) 11:46, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely - should be in. Why on earth not? Johnbod (talk) 15:26, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
