Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on East Finchley Cemetery. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Requested move[edit]

Move East Finchley Cemetery to City of Westminster Cemetery, East Finchley. This is a 'Westminster' overflow cemetery.--Aspro (talk) 13:26, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I believe this requested move has already been addressed but I will leave my comment anyway. The best solution, in my mind, is to create a disambiguity page called: Westminster Cemeteries (perhaps including the Westminster cemeteries scandal). The City of Westminster administrates three cemeteries, which are all named on their website, they are:

  • Hanwell Cemetery (formerly City of Westminster Cemetery)
  • East Finchley Cemetery (formerly St. Marylebone Cemetery)
  • Mill Hill Cemetery (formerly Paddington New Cemetery, but also known as Paddington Cemetery, Mill Hill), which does not have a Wikipedia entry.

None of these are in the City of Westminster itself.

Things are not helped by the fact that the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Cemetery, Hanwell is often referred to as Hanwell Cemetery. The current name of City of Westminster Cemetery, Hanwell (or sometimes formerly City Of Westminster Cemetery) is consistent, although I can imagine that there will be confusion as the City of Westminster itself calls it Hanwell Cemetery. The fact that these two cemeteries are located across the road from each other is not helping either. The fact that Mill Hill Cemetery is sometimes referred to as Paddington (New) Cemetery only adds to the confusion.

Unfortunately this is all a result of local reorganisations. In my mind it is probably best to maintain the contemporary names. JHvW 16:43, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • The proposed new name is confusing. I oppose a move. Dudley Miles (talk) 13:01, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
