New material[edit]

The East End was the location of two automobile manufacturing facilities. The Ford plant was located at 3906 Harrisburg. [1] (see bottom of page). Other refs [2] [3]

I visited the site via Google Earth, the building now belongs to the Maximus Coffee Group [4]. Is this the old Maxwell House building? Postoak (talk) 19:32, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Second Ward, Houston be merged into this article. I think that the content in the Second Ward article can easily be explained in the context of the East End District, and this article is of a reasonable size in which the merging of Second Ward's info will not cause any problems.   • Many individual East End neighborhoods have unique identities and plenty of reliable sources. The content of the Second Ward article cannot be comfortably explained in the East End article, and neither can content of other neighborhood articles like Eastwood, Houston etc. I oppose the proposed merger. The Laurenzo Early Childhood Center has the Spanish name: "Centro para la Infancia Temprana Laurenzo"
