Expansion[edit]

The full list of East-West All-Star teams and results form Appendix B of Peterson's Only The Ball Was White. I can find nothing about other Negro League All-Stars games or series. —Theo (Talk) 15:17, 24 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Cy Perkins[edit]

1960 linescore[edit]

If anyone has a source to double check this, please verify the linescore for the 1960 game; below is what was listed in the article -- the scores do not add up:

I found two reports of the game on ProQuest, the Chicago Daily Tribune and Daily Defender. I added the winning and losing pitchers, as well as the lone HR hit in the game. The "5 runs, 5 hits" should have been 8 and 8. -- Couillaud 05:38, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

I got all of the linescores from '33 until '48 (excluding '46) from Holway's Complete Book. We still need linescores for:

The 1940s are covered. I got both games of 1946, plus added the second games of 1947 and 1948, and then got the one game in 1949. Also added time of game and attendance to each game. -- Couillaud 16:19, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

I am currently working my way through the games of the mid- and late-1950s. The book Black Baseball's National Showcase: The East-West All-Star Game, 1933-1953 by Larry Lester, will help with the games of that era, but I have to go through various historical newspapers via ProQuest to find data on the games after 1953. So far, the 1962 game may be the one for which the least information is available, having been played in Kansas City instead of Chicago or New York. FYI, 1962 was the very last East-West game, as the NAL ceased operations after that season. -- Couillaud 15:04, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
