Image needs replacement[edit]

Hello all...

An image used in the article, specifically Image:Eagle Layout Editor.png, has a little bit of a licensing issue. The image was uploaded back when the rules around image uploading were less restrictive. It is presumed that the uploader was willing to license the picture under the GFDL license but was not clear in that regard. As such, the image, while not at risk of deletion, is likely not clearly licensed to allow for free use in any future use of this article. If anyone has an image that can replace this, or can go take one and upload it, it would be best.

Rewrite to Autodesk® EAGLE?[edit]

It is not consistent, but in many and at some of the most prominent places Autodesk themselves refer to the product as "Autodesk® EAGLE". Should the page and references in it be rewritten to a new official name? I see other prominent products mentioned by their manufacturer's name f.ex Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Outlook.

1) As per Microsoft Windows, since Windows is a generic term, adding Microsoft is important to make the article title unique, otherwise the article name would need to be "Windows (operating system)" or something along this line. Otherwise on Wikipedia article titles also can lean toward the common name, and since a vast majority of people don't know it with "Autodesk" as part of its name, then better that article title is "EAGLE (program)" or "EAGLE (software)". 2) Don't use ® in this article. There is a wikipedia guideline rule for not using that symbol, but I don't have a link to it. It's NOT used in other articles of software that are far more well known. 3) It is ok to use the full name "Autodesk EAGLE" maybe once in the article, but you don't need to add "Autodesk" everywhere, same as other articles use it's shorter common name throughout the article. • Sbmeirow • Talk • 02:19, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
