Unclear

All travelers living in a country outside the EU, are privileged to shop tax-free at shops outside EU airports.

Define "EU". Does "EU" mean "European Union" or "European Union common VAT area"? That is, can people from, say, Alandia or the Canary Islands buy duty-free items in Stockholm or Madrid, and can people from Stockholm and Madrid buy duty-free items in Alandia and on the Canary Islands? Works on airports and ferries, but I'm not so certain about shops elsewhere. (212.247.11.156 (talk) 20:40, 24 May 2009 (UTC))

criminal operation at Duty-free shops ?!

Has anyone read about the BBC report on how duty free shop join force with local corrupted police to scam travellers? I was thinking about adding their practice in the article. Can anyone confirm this? See

If this is real, this brand name is forever tainted.
