Merge into Duryea Motor Wagon[edit]

Keep separate. As the articles exist now, this one is primarily about the company while the Duryea Motor Wagon article is primarily about the vehicle itself. The two do not overlap significantly and it is probably best to keep the articles separate.

However, if the articles are to be merged, I would that suggest that this article be merged into the vehicle article, as the vehicle is far more notable than the company. Respectfully, SamBlob (talk) 15:13, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article describes two different companies. The Duryea Motor Wagn Company existed from 1895 to 1898 with both J Frank and Charles Duryea participating. There were only 13 identical vehicles produced. After the brothers split they each founded their separate conmpanies. The later part of the article is about the Duryea Power Company which had two incarnations in Reading PA founded by Charles Duryea.Duryea Stevens was founded by J Frank Duryea with a factory in Springfiled, MA. Not only are there separate articles on Duryea Motor Wagon Company and Duryea Motor Wagon, there is also one on Charles Duryea and another on J. Frank Duryea. It will become very arduous for future readers to wade through and compare these articles (and possibly others) which all share the same notable theme, viz., the first gasoline-powered car in America—one which, however, did not lead to significant production. Can someone with interest and suitable reference material combine all these pieces into one? The title should be either "Duryea Motor Wagon Company" or Duryea Motor Wagon. Discussion of this is continuing on the Charles Duryea talkpage. Bjenks (talk) 04:28, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
