Dune (software) → Dune (mathematics software) – WP:PRECISE/WP:AT ambiguous disambiguation is a bad idea. Dune (video game) is a piece of software. NCVG has nothing to do with this, since it isn't a videogame. However, both this and the videogame are software, and that is ambiguous. Thus does not conform with WP:AT. -- 65.92.247.66 (talk) 20:58, 19 March 2024 (UTC)

Oppose as unecessary WP:OVERPRECISION. Although video games are technically software, they are usually thought of as video games, not software, and are disambiguated using "(video game)" per WP:NCVG. The video game is averaging over 1,000 hits per day, compared to 5 for this software, so few if any readers are getting lost.[1] At most, just stick a hatnote on this article pointing directly to the video game. It's not overprecision if both are literally software, so it is actually underprecision. As you pointed out, this isn't even the most popular piece of software with an article on Wikipedia, thus it already fails WP:PDAB. -- 65.92.247.66 (talk) 19:25, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's overprecision to say "mathematics software" when just "software" will do. And "software" will do because virtually no one searching for the video game will do so by typing "Dune (software)". It is ambiguous, since both are software, thus it fails overprecision WP:PRECISE. It fails PDAB, because it is not the most popopular or most accessed topic on Wikipedia that is a piece of software (from your own usage stats). It fails WP:DAB because it is not unambiguous. Thus it fails WP:ARTICLETITLES. We should not force ambiguity into naming just to want ambiguous conciseness instead of actual unambiguity.
