The Picture[edit]

A. Normandy is not a duchy in the United Kingdom

B. The Queen is not Duchess of Normandy "suo jure", as her ancestors abandoned the title by treaty in the 13th century, then claimed the title of France, which means that the title of Normandy would have reverted to France anyway, and then abandoned claims to that title anyway at the beginning of the 19th century. Therefore she is not duchess (nor "duke") of Normandy.

Therefore, another image would be a good idea. What about prince Michael, or if you must insist on a duchess suo jure, one of the Stuart-era duchesses? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.53.137.235 (talk) 13:19, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Updates upon the death of Elizabeth II[edit]

I updated the list of royal dukes based on other Wikipedia articles. I haven’t consulted any outside sources. If I find any reliable ones, I’ll add them. ThreeOfCups (talk) 19:06, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
