Lacking global perspective[edit]

"Because the downy mildew pathogen does not overwinter in midwestern fields" // I presume you mean midwestern US states and which downy mildew pathogen(s) are we talking about? Similarly, the introduction is US specific. Globally the most important pathogen in commercial crops is probably vine downy mildew but there is hardly any mention of this here. I suspect most vineyards would consider chemical control essential. Maccheek (talk) 17:16, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled[edit]

Late blight is in a different group than downy mildew, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_mould. I don't know which is right, but the inconsistency should be resolved —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.145.187.67 (talkcontribs)

Yes... this article is completely wrong, aparently confusing peronospora with phytophthora. Rewriting now. --SB_Johnny|talk|books 15:12, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There's a good article on the German wikipedia: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mehltau --SB_Johnny|talk|books 15:22, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
