This article should be the core of the article Fort William, Ontario. It should not be a separate article. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 14:12, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article is only about a small portion of Fort William, though. It would be like writing an article about London and only mentioning Canary Wharf. I'm working on articles for other neighbourhoods of Fort William (and the rest of Thunder Bay) as well as an article about the history of Thunder Bay. You can view what I have already written here, here, here, and [[User:Vidioman/Citepage|here]. I have at my disposal many books about the city with which I am slowly working to provide information and citations for these articles. I wouldn't support a merge with such narrowly focused information as this is talking about less than 5% of the city itself but once I have more information available I can probably include many details in Fort William, Ontario. An expansion of both Fort William, Ontario and Port Arthur, Ontario is obviously in the works, but being one person it will take time. vıdıoman 18:37, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If an article on the downtown core of a city is larger than the article on the city as a whole, then we have a problem. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 01:12, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The City of Fort William is no longer a legal entity, that article is just providing a context. Once I have enough information composed to discuss more than one twentieth of the city I will work on expansion. It is on the top of my to-do list. You could help instead of complaining! I gave you all the stuff I've got. Help me organize it into an article. :) vıdıoman 08:30, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am helping. I am telling you how the article Fort William, Ontario can be expanded. Or Thunder Bay, Ontario, for that matter. The information on downtown Toronto can be found in Toronto. The information on downtown Ottawa can be found in Ottawa. Therefore, the information on downtown Fort William should be found in Fort William, Ontario, or, even better, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Think of one who looks for information on downtown Fort William. Where do you think he will think of looking? In all likelihood,

  1. Thunder Bay, Ontario.
  2. Fort William, Ontario.

If neither of these articles has the info, then the person will conclude that Wikipedia does not have the info. End of story. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 20:15, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where do I think they will be looking? The will be looking on Google and they will end up here. Shazam.
It's not like I intended to make these articles and have them exist in a void, I just haven't gotten around to inserting that stuff into other articles yet. I've got much of the information is just has to be wikified and organized to be presentable. This takes time, especially when you are one person! This information will be organized in due time, don't worry. Nothing is or ever will be perfect so its foolish to fret about making it so. Obviously, I should have waited to create this article. vıdıoman 20:49, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And the search string, in Google, will be just the same... "Fort William" or "Thunder Bay". Problem remains whole. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 20:54, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thunder Bay is a unique case. If you were looking for information about Downtown Thunder Bay you'd be typing "Intercity". I made a subsection for the neighbourhoods here and will expand it over the coming days and weeks. vıdıoman 21:04, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

why?[edit]

is this page even necessary, i mean come on, it's "downtown thunder bay"? nobody calls it that. it gives the impression that this area is the hub of commerce and business of thunder bay when it clearly isn't. you might as well have a page for the red river area as well then or by the casino —Preceding unsigned comment added by Muppeteer (talkcontribs)

If you want to merge or delete it, be my guest. If you want to make a page for Downtown Port Arthur, I have some stuff here you can use to do that. vıdıoman 17:26, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not really, I was just saying that's all
