Editions[edit]

The lead needs to identify the first edition illustrator and publisher, preferably in the first sentence. Recommendation: "... written by J.W., illustrated by ..., and published by ... in 1995." Describe the diary device and identical twins title/theme in the rest of the lead paragraph, or perhaps with mention of awards too.

If other illustrators and publishers are worth mentioning, they probably belong in section Publication history or in a footnote. Contemporary first and first US editions may deserve mention in the lead and/or infobox. Recommendation for infobox: first illus/publ on one line [break] first US on the next line with qualifier "(US)".

(I have just added paragraph two about the 1995 Carnegie Medal. It may not belong in the lead, if and when this becomes a good "Start". Although I guess the author is happier about this runner up than about winning the overall Smarties Prize.) --P64 (talk) 19:43, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
