Cause of death[edit]

I noticed User:Nikkimaria has twice removed Crowe's cause of death from the infobox. I was going to revert such edit, but I think I should try to get a consensus on the matter first before I violate the 3-revert rule. That he died of a heart attack is verifiable and adequately-sourced, although I admit that the source is paywalled. (I can try to get a screenshot of the relevant information if feasible). Thanks! --John M Wolfson (talk) 11:17, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What makes this particular detail significant? Nikkimaria (talk) 11:35, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Looking through U.S. Presidents it is rather inconsistent but causes of death, if known/describable, do appear in the infoboxes of such articles as George Washington, James Monroe, and Woodrow Wilson, among others, and internationally the same applies for such Canadian PMs as William Lyon Mackenzie King and John A. Macdonald. I think causes of death are inherently significant for biographies such that they warrant inclusion in infoboxes. (Of course, Crowe never reached the level of President or other national head of government, but I still think that such pages should be used to model pages of politicians in general.) -- John M Wolfson (talk) 12:36, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There are far more of such pages that do not include it, even when known and describable. It's not typically a key fact about the individual. Nikkimaria (talk) 22:33, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I guess that's fair, I guess I didn't realize that significance was a prerequisite for infobox inclusion when the relevant field existed. -- John M Wolfson (talk) 22:48, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

'The machine'[edit]

For those of us who are not familiar with US politics of the period, could 'the machine' be linked to the relevant page explaining the term. Jackiespeel (talk) 17:30, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that was done by User:Athaenara. -- John M Wolfson (talk) 18:30, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking on the first mention, here '...with the machine in a changing climate...' Jackiespeel (talk) 10:16, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Done. --John M Wolfson (talk) 11:22, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
