Fair use rationale for Image:TheGeneticGeneral.jpg[edit]

Image:TheGeneticGeneral.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Literary Critique is Non-authoritative[edit]

Reviews cited appear to be random people on internet.

As a result the article's author missed the context and point of women in the main character's life. Its not misogyny but instead sacrifice of most family and personal relationships outside the military context. Establishing a ethical and professional military society is the main character's mission in life. Its never presented in any way that he was driven into this profession in order to escape women. What can be said as "critique" of the settings of the novel is that military women are rare to the point of being unknown at this point in the series. But that is reality at various points in history. The series eventually peripherially explores the impact on women of the practicalities of military oriented nations or worlds with low population problems and no magic artifical wombs...and the compromises for exceptional women and women in gneral as progress is made toward removing reproductive burdens from women in a military society.

Similarly the woodne dialog is in part reflective of someone living a professional military life as scholar as well as practical matters. Such formal speech is still found in places like the UK although most of that has been eliminated from the US military as the idea of permanent cadre of officer student-teachers of the military arts has been eliminated since the late 1980s in favor of the extended weekend warrior model (i.e. military careers are accidents of national need and ability).

Oddly enough if I went back and published reviews of every sci-fi novel I ever read...I could probably establish myself as a layman authority. But while academics may often miss the point of novels ooutside their persoanl experience, there is something to be said for studying means of objectivity (philosophy and ethics) as well as structured literary classifications. 72.182.8.122 (talk) 19:14, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
