Dr. Donald James' was only of only a handful of people to surf and photograph surfing between 1930 and 1950. His two books chronical the beginings and rise of the California surf culter that expanded and become mainstream across the United States in the mid to late 1950s. He is as important to the development of modern surfing as the Duke. His books are available on Amazon and other online book sources is hardback. Jason D. suicide (isn't it ?)[edit]
