Old name[edit]

Should Rosary College redirect here? -Phoenixrod 18:43, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Rosary College was a former name of Dominican University. Done. Tvaughn05 (talk) 03:15, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Overall cleanup[edit]

This article was/is in sorry shape, and I have started to clean it up and removed some of the biased and ad-like language. It needs to read more like an encyclopedia article and less like an advertisement. Anyone else want to help? One thing we can do is pull out History as its own section, beef it up, and add references. -Brianwantium 21 Sept 2007

Okay....I've begun to reorganize the article. For now, I left the sections about each individual school, though I have streamlined the content and removed the stuff that was ad-like or otherwise not encyclopedic. I've also added a few references, but a lot more needs to be done. -Brianwantium 21 Sept 2007 —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 01:14, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just removed some additional biased (and poorly written) information on the faculty in the business school. First, Wikipedia is not supposed to serve as an advertisement for the school. Second, if you want to add positive content, at least write something factual, back it up with a reference, etc. I've already removed a lot of ad-like writing from this article, and even some of what's left is kind of borderline....anyone else care to help? -Brianwantium 20 Nov 2007 —Preceding comment was added at 07:04, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I'm willing to help, as long as someone helps me decide what needs to be fixed-I'm totally new to this.Louanna007 (talk) 19:16, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The intro should not advertise or brag. Cleanup anyone? 12:06 26 February 2008 User: Uriah is Boss (UTC)

Checking the source cited for endowment, it looks like the figure originally listed was from Dominican University in CA, and not this institution. I've updated to the correct 2009 figure. --24.14.49.77 (talk) 11:26, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Conditional Accreditation for GSLIS[edit]

Someone removed this info, and that is not okay. It is still accurate until the ALA visit this spring (March or April 2008) and determines whether the label of "conditional" is removed from the accreditation. For now, it stands. Otherwise, it looks like the school is trying to hide something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.135.183.190 (talk) 22:43, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

March 2008 Cleanup[edit]

I spent about an hour today cleaning up this article, and I added another picture, of Centennial. I removed some information, but that was really to make it more like the other articles about similar Universities, like Loyola or DePaul. I'll be coming back when I have the time to finish this article, and expand on it some more, because it would be great if it had a lot more information. Just look at a big school, like University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) to see what information they have in their article. Thanks! Tvaughn05 (talk) 02:49, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

When did the school go coed? I thought it was women only for most of its history. This article makes it seem as if it's always been coed. -Phoenixrod (talk) 06:56, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I added a sentence that the school went co-ed in the early 1970s. It's difficult to pin down a precise year, because I believe that men were admitted to some classes/programs when the college was still technically for women only. It was in the early 1970s that men were admitted to the school in general. ChiHistoryeditor 23:34, 27 January 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChiHistoryeditor (talkcontribs)

I confirmed that the school went co-ed in 1970 and modified it accordingly. ChiHistoryeditor (talk) 19:28, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Over-emphasis on sports?[edit]

The information on sports, particularly the men's soccer team, dominates this article. In addition, the section reads like a press release. Anyone want to take a stab at toning it down?ChiHistoryeditor (talk) 19:29, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notable alumni[edit]

If there is only one notable alum, does the subject warrant an entire section? There used to be a longer list, but now the only remaining one is a minor actress who appeared a film more than 25 years ago.ChiHistoryeditor (talk) 17:09, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and removed the section. If someone has/creates a more comprehensive list, it can be re-added. ChiHistoryeditor (talk) 20:46, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
