Monaghan and Lilly as a dating couple[edit]

Issues with the current changes.

1) Contributor unwilling to accept logical thought. 2) Contributor unwilling to present equal sides to an argument.

No first person/primary evidence for the current claims imposed by a contributor has been presented. Only speculative thought devised from spending to much time reading gossip sources which make money by bending truth to make it more appealing. No visible proof, i.e. photos or Monaghan or Lilly making a public announcement, displays of affection etc.

Despite this, it’s still perfectly possible that Monaghan and Lilly are dating, but it’s not factual. Therefore it’s logical to present both reason for the arguments as to the claims that Monaghan and Lilly are dating. Continually replacing a balanced argument doesn’t turn a lie into a truth, it can also be classed as vandalism.

If you wish to amend the changes on this issue you must provide us with some factual tangible evidence. This site is suppose to be a truthful information resource centre, if you want to believe that Monahan and Lilly are living and dating unquestionably then it might be worth joining a forum or message board with that bias. If you take the time to read the modifications (at current time 14/9/05) your notice that both sides of the argument are explored. If you continue to make unjustified modifications to the article, unless something happens to confirm either view, it will be locked again. (Mithos7 12:28, 15 September 2005 (UTC))[reply]

Expanding[edit]

Isn't it ironic that the Lost character Charlie has a bigger entry than Dominic? The monkeyhate 15:22, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Monaghan and Lilly as a dating couple PART TWO[edit]

Monaghan and Lilly were seen "making out" on a Hawaiian beach not even two weeks ago. I've added references, with "photo evidence". I know there's been a lot of controversy and debate on the subject, but this is pretty damn conclusive. Poisonouslizzie 00:40, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

He's on Jonathan Ross right now, and Ross asked him about it. I didn't catch his response, but it sounded as though he denied it.86.22.117.48 22:28, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He refused to talk about his private life, so he didn't explicitly confirm or deny it. (But it was pretty clear that they are...) Jihg 22:46, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the man utd shirt thing?[edit]

any sources?

I have re-watched all epidodes of LOST mant times and i've never seen him weraing a man utd shirt. besides , wouldn't that go against his rock star image? i'm going to remove it unless someone can find any info about scenes when he wears it

He wears a Man Utd shirt during the filming of the LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring, where Dominic, Elijah Wood and Sean Astin are getting their hobbit feet glued on. I believe it's on the 3rd or 4th disc of the LOTR Trilogy 12 disc extended edition.

"Cameo voice"?[edit]

I don't know what the original entry on this says exactly but in the actor's commentary of The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring DVD the actors (Monaghan, Wood, Boyd, and Astin) discuss Monaghan providing the voice of Gollumn during the flashback where Bilbo Baggins (played by Ian Holm) first finds the One Ring. I don't know if a DVD commentary is a good enough source, Monaghan himself says it so I would assume thats pretty much the same as if he said it in an interview. (Gollum is in the background and says "My Precioussss")Serkis hadn't been cast at the time and it is an uncredited role. Also the digital look of Gollum wasn't completed at the time, which is why you see so little of him in the first movie and he's in shadow the whole time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.35.208.22 (talk) 19:28, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What does this mean exactly, listed under his Lord of the Rings roles? The articles Gollum#Film and Andy Serkis make no implication that the voice of Gollum was done by anyone other than the main actor. This just seems like false info to me. Ham Pastrami 01:43, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I also never saw anything to credit anyone but Andy Serkis doing the voice. Laboviorodruin (talk) 19:01, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lost season 4[edit]

He features in some events (such as the first episode) of season four of Lost as well, so I change "2004-2007" to "2004-2008". - Aki (talk) 15:50, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DM & EL couple again[edit]

Don't want to step on any toes so I'll just leave some info here http://news.celebritywonder.com/2008/04/04/Lilly___Monaghan_Back_Together.html

basically

The former "Lost" co-stars - who split last November shortly after Dominic's rock star character Charlie Pace was killed off in the hit US TV show - have decided they can't live without each other following a series of intense phone calls and meetings.

Spoiler![edit]

On "personal life" you wrote:

"It was reported that Monaghan and former Lost co-star Evangeline Lilly had split after a three year relationship, which they ended when he left Hawaii as his character was killed off.".

The fact that his was killed is an obvious spoiler. You should either warn from a spoiler or remove the reason (besides, is that really a reason for breakup? do people breakup because such a reason? I think this kind of writing belongs in the gossip sections, not in an encyclopedia). I will leave the decision and corrections to you since English is not my best language. 84.228.210.222 (talk) 15:33, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

German-born[edit]

Yes, he was born in Germany but, as his parents are British, we have no reason to think he was ever a German citizen. Not everyone born in Germany is German, especially not those born before 2000. Unless we can confirm that he is or was a German citizen, that label is misleading. We should just call him British. People can see the info box for where he was born. Nick (talk) 01:38, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Career - Lord of the Rings[edit]

In the career section there is no mention of his role as Merry throughout the Lord of the Rings films. It mentions it in the introduction, but doesn't go into any detail. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.19.216.184 (talk) 13:22, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Early Life[edit]

The early life section reads:

"When he was about 11 years old, his family moved from Germany to Heaton Moor in Stockport, Greater Manchester, and later to Manchester."

I'm certain the "and later to Manchester" bit is untrue as until recently we were living on the same avenue as his parents and it was most definitely Heaton Moor. Citation anyone? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.222.180.159 (talk) 20:21, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Berlin, West Germany[edit]

The article says he was born in "Berlin, West Germany". "Berlin, Germany" or "West Berlin, Germany" would make more sense, as none of the four sectors were part of West Germany, and the whole city wasn't in the Federal Republic till he was a teenager. 2O97 22:45, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Full name[edit]

It's hard to believe this has been in the article for so long given only a third-rate source, in fact, not even the correct PAGE of this third-rate source (the one cited pertaining, apparently, to a "Dominic McVey") - https://web.archive.org/web/20160422235543/http://networthtomb.com/dominic-mcvey-net-worth-real-estate-millionaire/ - is cited. "Net Worth Tomb Celebrity net worth and body measurements"? Hardly inspires confidence, particularly when the "About us" page gives, in barely-comprehensible English, "Showbiz based websites networthtomb established in 2014 which covers about celebrities body measurements and Hollywood celebrities net worth/money stats. We will also cover sports portion in near future" and "Don't forget to visit us daily. We update our blog on daily basis for adding huge data base about Female Hollywood celebrities Body measurements, Sports roster salaries and celebrity net worth and world famous celebs house photo and their information. We are like Wikipedia but, just focus on American and popular international stars." I believe this speaks for itself! No other decent sources appear to give Monaghan's full name, it only appearing in Wikipedia mirrors, other inferior wikis, Facebook posts by fan groups, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.202.187 (talk) 00:24, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
