You can read the ongoing discussion here. The nominator's argument is that the song has not received "significant coverage in many reliable sources". Until we have an official solid single release, we cannot call it a single just because the artist did. Since it was only available with the pre-order on iTunes, and not a separate single page, it does not count as a single release. Once we get a radio release it can, but as of right now it has yet to be released for any type of sale as a single.STATic message me! 20:22, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Artwork[edit]

As we all know, Lady Gaga tweeted an artwork for "Do What U Want" last Saturday night, ahead of the release of "Do What U Want" on Monday. However, this doesn't seem to be on the packaging itself. The artwork used for the single's release on Amazon.com is, in fact, the Artpop album cover. This poses a huge problem: the image being used in the info box of this article does not reflect the single's artwork itself. Therefore, I would like to ask the Wikipedia community working on this article which of the most plausible options should we take at this time:

Option A - Keep it as it is; The twitter artwork stays, but is mentioned in a caption below the artwork that it is a semi-official artwork posed on Twitter, but not used as the artwork itself.
Option B - Switch the image; Switch the artwork for the Artpop artwork, since this is the actual image used for the single.
Option C - Cancel each other out; Remove the artworks altogether and have no image, rectifying the need to use the Artpop artwork in two different articles.

I, personally, support both Option A and B.

I would prefer option A, is it not the official cover artwork as revealed by Gaga? Alot of sources reported that. Sometimes Amazon uses the album cover artwork when it is this close to the release, even if an official cover artwork is released/revealed. This goes the same for songs that are released to radio after the album's release, most radio release sites do not post the artwork along with the release information, but a official artwork certainly exists in some cases. Option B would be an option, however fair-use guidelines do not allow us to use the cover artwork for the album on the song/single articles. STATic message me! 23:27, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Option A - The image she tweeted is the official single artwork. The ARTPOP cover is being used in online stores such as iTunes because the singles are being released via album preorder. For example, in the iTunes Get Info section the Album is declared "ARTPOP" rather than "Do What U Want - Single." If that makes sense. We should definitely keep the official single artwork that she tweeted. And once you guys settle this, the caption should be removed. Option A always and never should any other option be considered. Amazon is a grossly unreliable source for anything else other than a single release date maybe and anything else, like artwork, review etc are to be based on first party and third party sources. Option A. The thing is, recently, a lot of singles have not been released on iTunes anymore. They are instead offered when you pre-order the album, or you could just buy it apart of the album (like you would for any other song). I think that it should say, "'Do What U Want' has been critically acclaimed by critics" instead of it getting mostly positive views. The song has been very well received and it has only gotten very few negative reviews.

Promotional artwork?[edit]

The article mentions promotional artwork featuring LG covered by moss. Is this something that can be included as fair use, or just the cover art? I do not think that promotional artworks are allowed and neither do they pass WP:NFCC. Its not like it is widely being discussed in the media unlike the official booty artwork.
