Deletion probable[edit]

I'm not aware that "divine spark" is a theological term of art; if it isn't, then the article should probably be deleted. Garamond Lethet

It is a term in Gnosticism. However, I think the article is incorrect in saying that every person has a divine spark. In Gnosticism, only the elect have a divine spark within them; most people do not. Philgoetz (talk) 04:50, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This concept is common in many religions outside of Christianity, particular in the religions' mystical traditions. It is a primary topic in Jewish Kabbalah, for example.
