"The Discovery"[edit]

The usage of The Discovery is under discussion, see talk:The Discovery (album) -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 06:24, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Discovery protocols[edit]

I think that discovery relating to computing/networks is missing from the Discovery disambiguation. This is the process by which entities, such as as nodes, are discovered (and may then be enumerated, communicated with etc.). Examples of such protocols are SSDP and LLDP. Also, for example, SNMP agents may be discovered by searching a subnet or range of IP addresses, specifically attempting to connect to the SNMP port (usually UDP port 161) for each IP address to check if a process is listening at this address. Further, there should be a Wikipedia entry for the general discovery mechanism (there are already entries for specific discovery protocols, such as SSDP and LLDP). 66.155.23.67 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 11:38, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
