It is referred that the leaves of this tree are used to make beedi, but I can find no picture anywhere of those leaves. Not in this articel, not in the beedi article. Does anyone have a close up of the leaves or a picture of the whole tree? That would be greatly appreciated.

Macassar Ebony should absolutely NOT redirect to Diospyros Melanoxylon. Macassar Ebony is Diospyros Celebica. (The slightly lesser-quality Diospyros Discolor is also sometimes marketed as Macassar Ebony, since it is similar in appearance.)

Any search of wood related reference sites will confirm Macassar Ebony as D. Celebica. The wood has a long and well-documented history as one of the finest woods in the world. Its use as a furniture wood reached its peak in the Art Deco period. I was surprised not to find a substantial Macassar Ebony page on Wikipedia.
