DictaBelt or Dictabelt[edit]

All contemporary evidence I have seen from the 1950s and 1960s (packaging, advertisements) spells the word as Dictabelt, not DictaBelt. Ironically, it looks like the Dictaphone historical page is in error about their own product. — Walloon 16:05, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In either case, WP:MOSTM probably applies. This article has been renamed from DictaBelt to Dictabelt as the result of a move request. --Stemonitis 11:56, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Having looked through a lot of old National Geographics, in which it was advertised a lot, Dictaphone used "Dictabelt" in its advertising. Looks like my addition of "DictaBelt" to several articles has now been updated, so thanks. ProhibitOnions ^(T) 13:22, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Green belts?[edit]

My father used a machine much like this for dictation. It was either the same, or a similar machine that also used vinyl loops. However, I am quite sure that no later than 1961 my father's machine used green belts. Either it was another machine, or the statement in the article about belt color is not correct.Bill (talk) 23:29, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
