I don't know why this page is titled the Tasmanian Tree Fern. Soft-tree fern is more commonly used. |

Photograph[edit]

Would it not be more appropriate to have a photograph of a large specimen in its natural habitat, rather that a rather small, sad looking one it a pot in someone's backyard? Glennnnn 01:36, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely. Next time I get to Tasmania I'll take care of it. Only I don't think I'll get to Tasmania (at least not anytime soon). We need to find some Australian Wikipeidans who get down that way to get us a pic. --DanielCD 01:43, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming[edit]

This species name has been moved in the relevant plant catalgues to Balantium antarctica following a publication of 2012, as stated in "The Plant List" and the new LCVP (Leipzi catalogue of vascular plants). See http://legacy.tropicos.org/NamePage.aspx?nameid=50183033 and http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/tro-50183030 The LCVP appears to be available as a download from Github only, for the time being.
